Bullseye / 19 Traction Channels
A screening procedure that ranks nineteen acquisition channels, cheap-tests three, and concentrates effort on the one that works.
Weinberg & Mares, Traction (2014, reissued 2015)
What it does
Systematically screens nineteen acquisition channels, cheap-tests three, then commits to one. The value is the discipline of screening rather than defaulting — not the channel list.
When it breaks
The list froze in 2015, and the method needs test budget and traffic to run at all. Very early on you need one bet, not a survey.
Case
Weinberg's own answer for DuckDuckGo: SEO first, then content marketing, then social ads, then PR, then business development including the Apple deal. Viral marketing never worked despite repeated attempts, and his stated regret was not prioritising PR years sooner.

Nineteen channels as a ring, three lit for testing and one filled for commitment — with the discarded sixteen kept visible, because the discarding is the method.
